ITA/ Blaggando, da circa 3 anni, gli ultimi giorni di ottobre e primi di novembre li dedica a dar voce ad un energia nuova e incredibilmente forte. Alla base di tutto c’è la genialità, la creatività, il sapere dell’uomo. In Italia (a Torino per la precisione), l’arte diventa protagonista e fa si che le menti più brillanti aiutino gli altri a capire cosa si cela dietro un’opera creata con maestria e non solo. Si perchè proprio in questo 2018, un’opera d’arte figlia di un algoritmo, è stata battuta all’asta ad un prezzo folle. L’algoritmo resta pur sempre opera dell’essere umano, sia chiaro. Sempre roba nostra.
Mentre nella capitale delle Alpi succedeva la settimana delle arti contemporanee, in un altro paese, nella sua capitale Lisbona, Internet e la tecnologia figlia dell’intelletto umano, radunavano quasi 70.000 persone all’interno della Fiera di Lisbona per il più grande evento Europeo (e forse mondiale), il Web Summit.
Un grande sforzo economico del Portogallo e della sua capitale, hanno fatto si che per 10 anni il raduno della tecnologia creato da Paddy Cosgrave, rimanga nella città portoghese, con la promessa di un sempre maggior afflusso di persone e allargamento negli spazi, che generano una ricaduta economica senza precedenti nella storia del Portogallo. Il governo ha una visione a lungo periodo con la missione di trasformare il pasese, in una super potenza dell’innovazione e della tecnologia, basti pensare all’HUB più grande del mondo in fase di realizzazione nella città, che sfiderà Silicon Valley e Station F di Parigi.
Ma cosa creano 10 giorni di Internet, Tecnologia e Persone? I risultati li possiamo vedere ogni giorno, usando uno smartphone, lavorando al computer, interagendo con un’opera d’arte ad una mostra, oppure, parlando con chi sta scrivendo le regole del prossimo futuro per l’uso dell’energia. I temi sono sempre più orientati alla sostenibilità e ai grandi problemi che l’uomo dovrà affrontare da qui ai prossimi 10/20 anni tra i quali la sua stessa sopravvivenza visti gli ultimi eventi dati dai cambiamenti climatici. Sempre più energia verde prodotta dal sole e dal vento, la gestione, la distribuzione, il consumo responsabile saranno guidati grazie alle nuove tecnologie di decentralizzazione nate da Bitcoin con la Blockchain, se ne parlato molto nei diversi incontri del Websummit, la creazione di soluzioni tecnologiche che mirano a ridistribuire i beni in maniera equa e solidale verso i paesi emergenti più lenti nella folle corsa di una crescita sconsiderata. Anche la moda, attuerà processi più sostenibili per l’ambiente, riducendo gli sprechi e integrandosi sempre più nell’ottica dell’economia circolare che sta aiutando il mondo a cambiare in modo concreto. Lisbona come Torino, due capitali del nuovo mondo che grazie al lavoro di decine, centinaia, migliaia di persone, stanno facendo capire che non bisogna essere negli Stati Uniti o in Cina (le attuali super potenze economiche) per stare al passo con l’evoluzione tecnologica, perchè sono i “non luoghi” quelli che saranno gli artefici del “nuovo mondo” in cui non saranno solo più i soldi a farlo da padroni, bensì la cultura, la voglia di rinnovarsi, la creatività.
Viva la rinascita, viva la passione e l’energia che si respira in questa vecchia Europa che ancora non ha una sua identità vera, ma che non vede l’ora grazie alle sue città e al suo popolo di tornare ad essere protagonista incontrastrata del prossimo futuro, fatto di aggregazione, inclusione e maggior rispetto per le persone che ancora devono davvero mostrare il loro potenziale, perchè l’immigrazione ha cambiato il mondo, in meglio, e la tecnologia dei giorni nostri dovrebbe aiutarci a capirlo e a rendere questo momento, uno storico momento per l’umanità compresi robot, intelligenza artificiale, libertà di espressione e di visione a lungo periodo.

At the base of everything there is the genius, the creativity, the knowledge of the human. In Italy (in Turin to be precise), art becomes the protagonist and makes the most brilliant minds help others to understand what lies behind a work created with skill and not only. Yes, because in this 2018, a work of art derived from an algorithm, was bid at an incredible price. The algorithm is still the work of the human being, let’s be clear. Always our stuff.
While in the capital of the Alps happened the Contemporary Arts week, in another country, in its capital Lisbon, the Internet and technology daughter of the human intellect, gathered almost 70,000 people within the Lisbon Fair for the largest European event (and perhaps world), the Web Summit.
A great economic effort by Portugal and its capital, have meant that for 10 years the gathering of technology created by Paddy Cosgrave, remains in the Portuguese city, with the promise of an ever-increasing flow of people and enlargement in the spaces, which generate an economic spillover unprecedented in the history of Portugal. The government has a long-term vision with the mission of transforming the country into a superpower of innovation and technology, just think of the world’s largest HUB being built in the city, which will challenge Silicon Valley and Station F in Paris.
But what do 10 days of Internet, Technology and People create? We can see the results every day, using a smartphone, working on the computer, interacting with a work of art at an exhibition, or talking to those who are writing the rules of the near future for the use of energy for example. The themes are increasingly oriented towards sustainability and the great problems that man will face in the next 10/20 years, including his own survival given the latest events caused by climate change. More and more green energy produced by the sun and the wind, management, distribution, responsible consumption will be guided by the new technologies of decentralization born from Bitcoin with Blockchain, much is said in the different panels of Websummit, the creation of technological solutions that aim to redistribute goods in a fair and supportive towards the slowest emerging countries in the crazy rush of reckless growth. Fashion, too, will implement more sustainable processes for the environment, reducing waste and increasingly integrating into the circular economy that is helping the world to change in a concrete way. Lisbon as Turin, two capitals of the new world that thanks to the work of tens, hundreds, thousands people are making it clear that it is not necessary to be in the United States or China (the current economic superpowers) to keep up with technological evolution, because it is the “non-places” that will be the architects of the “new world” where it will no longer be only the money to do it as masters, but the culture, the desire to renew, creativity.
Live the rebirth, live the passion and energy that you breathe in this old Europe that still does not have a true identity, but that can not wait thanks to its cities and its people to return to be the undisputed protagonist of the near future, made of aggregation, inclusion and greater respect for people who still have to really show their potential, because immigration has changed the world in better, and today’s technology should help us to understand it and make this moment, a historic moment for humanity including robots, artificial intelligence, freedom of expression and long-term vision.
